Solidarity market for Malawi

Mercadillo solidario para Malawi

Solidarity market for Malawi

From yesterday until November 11, a solidarity market organized by the Missionaries of Mary Mediatrix for years will take place in Madrid, at the Eurobuilding. The purpose is to raise funds to send to their different missions in India, Colombia, Malawi and also in Spain.

The Missionaries of Mary Mediatrix are like our family, we have been linked to them since we spent 1 year volunteering in one of their missions, an orphanage called St Mary's Rehabilitation Center, known as the Chezi orphanage. You can read more about them and their great work here: http://mmediadora.es/

These missionaries, apart from being made of a different material, contact companies and friends every year who usually collaborate with them, to receive merchandise to sell at the market.

Maria Teresa Andrade has been preparing the market since June. Asking and asking, chasing, calling... the poor thing... but she gets it! we all fall exhausted hehe..

You have to go even if it's just to do the solidarity gesture of the day... every time I go or help, I feel like a better person, because I know first-hand all the great work they do, and I can't help but repeat it.

Among other brands, Lexington, one of my favorites in home linen, donates ideal blankets and cushions every year! and the missionaries sell them at a very good price. I pick up something from this brand every year.

Also, the brand of extra virgin oil with designation of origin from Baena Virrey del Pino (www.cooperativadeguadalupe.es) donates many liters, both in cans and bottles. There is everything, children's clothing, toys, decorations, you can snack on everything. This year there are some incredible party dresses donated by El Corte Inglés. The important thing is that it is 100% beneficial.

MY WANDER Kids also has its own small space for the “Solidarity Bib”, our Stars Fox… which is €35 and 100% goes to the missions.

My mother brought a lot of African fabrics in June, with impressive prints. Then here, a seamstress has made canvas-lined bags, placemats, iPad cases, aprons and ideal handbags. They are gorgeous.

It is located very centrally and with easy access. Also this year they accept cards!! There is parking at the hotel, but if not, you also have the blue zone.
